Do you want to run the marathon but don’t have a place? Or do you have a place and want to run for a local charity?
Brighton and Hove LGBT Switchboard has five places in next years Brighton Marathon and we are looking for people to run on our behalf. This year we raised over £2,000 and we want to raise even more next year so this is your opportunity to be part of that challenge. Elaine Bryan, a veteran of this years’ race and a trustee of Switchboard, will be coordinating Switchboard’s entries and will be on hand to offer support, expertise and encouragement, along with Mark Elsworth, lead trustee, who also completed the marathon.
Elaine says ‘This was a fantastic experience which I really enjoyed. Although it was hard doing all the training the day itself was memorable and I was so proud of myself for finishing the course. I really look forward to working with next years runners to help them have the same experience.’
Switchboard will pay for your place, as long as you raise £500 in sponsorship on our behalf: if anyone else has already signed up to run the marathon and would like to run for a charity, then we would also like to hear from you.
To get in touch with Elaine please contact her via the address below: who knows, you could beat this years sponsorship total!
