We’re Looking for Helpline Listeners and Rainbow Neighbour Volunteers
Fancy helping out at Brighton & Hove’s oldest LGBTQ charity? We’re looking for Helpline Listening Volunteers to answer calls, emails and webchats from other members of the LGBTQ+ community. Also we are keen to recruite Befriending volunteers for our Rainbow Neighbour programme.
For the Helpline, we’re looking for people who:
- Identify as LGBTQ+
- Are able to travel to our Brighton office twice a month for a shift or meeting
- Are great listeners and passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community
- Are able to commit to at least two shifts a month
Our helpline is open Monday to Thursday evenings from 7pm-9:30pm.
We prefer shifts to be conducted at our office on Queens Road, but can accommodate the occasional remote shift if needed.
For Rainbow neighbours, we’re looking for people who:
- Identify as LGBTQ+
- Are able to commit to a regular monthly or bi-weekly meetup with an isolated member of the community
- Are great listeners and passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community
- Are confident meeting people in person
Training for both roles will take place from 10-4 p.m. on 14th and 21st January 2024. Interviews will take place after the 11th of December.
