LGBTQ+ refugees, asylum seekers and migrants invited to IRIS meet-ups

LGBTQ+ refugees, asylum seekers and migrants are being invited to attend new free weekly peer support group sessions in central Brighton.

The sessions are part of a new service called IRIS, or International Rainbow Inclusion Service, which has been set up by Switchboard and fellow Brighton-based charity Conversation Over Borders.

The service aims to provide much-needed support to LGBTQ+ people who are newcomers to the UK, including those who are questioning their sexuality and/or gender identity.

The weekly peer support group sessions, which will be facilitated and include a mix of structured activities and socialising, will be held from 2pm to 4pm on Wednesdays.

The first of the sessions, which will also offer advice and support and invite participants to develop future content, will be on Wednesday 17 January.
