Dementia Project

Dementia ProjectThe Dementia Project is for LGBTQ+ people living with dementia or concerned about memory loss

Dementia affects around 944,000 adults in the UK. You deserve inclusive support that recognises your individual life experience, whether you or a loved one in your life lives with dementia.

As part of our BOLD (Bereavement, Older People’s, and Dementia) Group, we run groups for LGBTQ+ people who either live with dementia, or care for someone who does.

We can offer one-off home visits to new referrals who live in Sussex.

We currently offer the following programmes:

  • Dementia Support Group
Monthly in-person peer support sessions currently held in Brighton at a wheelchair accessible venue. These are open to both LGBTQ+ people living with dementia, and to LGBTQ+ carers of people living with dementia. We meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 10.30am-12pm. To find out more or come along, please complete a referral using the form below.
  • LGBTQ+ Carers Meetup
Monthly in-person peer support sessions for LGBTQ+ carers held in Brighton at a wheelchair accessible venue. We meet on the 4th Friday of each month from 10.30am-12pm. Please note: this group is not exclusively for carers of someone living with dementia. The group is for LGBTQ+ people who are or who have been carers. Please complete a referral using the form below if you’d like to find out more.

You can also sign up to the BOLD newsletter to keep up to date with our work, dates of upcoming meet-ups and other activities. By signing up, you agree to the terms set out in our Privacy Policy.
