Dementia Project

Dementia ProjectThe Dementia Project is for LGBTQ+ people living with dementia or concerned about memory loss

Dementia affects around 944,000 adults in the UK. You deserve inclusive support that recognises your individual life experience, whether you or a loved one in your life lives with dementia.

As part of our BOLD (Bereavement, Older People’s, and Dementia) Group, we run groups for LGBTQ+ people who either live with dementia, or care for someone who does.

We can offer one-off home visits to new referrals who live in Sussex.

We currently offer the following programmes:

  • Dementia Support Group
Monthly in-person peer support sessions currently held in Brighton at a wheelchair accessible venue. These are open to both LGBTQ+ people living with dementia, and to LGBTQ+ carers of people living with dementia. We meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 10.30am-12pm. To find out more or come along, please contact [email protected]
  • LGBTQ+ Carers Meetup
Monthly in-person peer support sessions for LGBTQ+ carers held in Brighton at a wheelchair accessible venue. We meet on the 4th Friday of each month from 10.30am-12pm. Please note: this group is not exclusively for carers of someone living with dementia. The group is for LGBTQ+ people who are or who have been carers. Please contact [email protected] if you’d like to find out more.

You can also sign up to the BOLD newsletter to keep up to date with our work, dates of upcoming meet-ups and other activities. By signing up, you agree to the terms set out in our Privacy Policy.
