Our Older People’s Group is for LGBTQ people aged 50+ who would like to meet others in their community for support or information.
We provide those aged 50+ with a number of regular social activities, meet ups and trips. We also provide information and host workshops about services for older people and make connections for people within the community and to other services.
At the current time we have adapted our programme to offer small groups outside and online experiences that feel safe for our service users. For the latest event updates, please see our events calendar.
Our current programme includes:
Meet ups at The Breakfast Club on the second Tuesday of the month from 10am to 11.30am
Regular trips out (here on a visit to Charleston Farmhouse)
Forrest School session in private woods
Meet ups at The Hop on the the third Thursday of the month from 2pm to 3.30pm
We also support people one-to-one via the telephone and Zoom and home visits.
Switchboard are working in partnership with Together Co and Lunch Positive to recruit LGBTQ befrienders to match with LGBTQ clients. If you’re an LGBTQ person who would like to volunteer as a befriender, or would like to be befriended, contact [email protected]
