If you identify as LGBT * and are keen to contribute to our community, we would love for you to volunteer with our LGBT* Affirmative Counselling Service. We offer the chance to be part of a supportive team and receive regular  supervision.

We have vacancies for four qualified volunteer counsellors and we are particularly keen to hear from gay male counsellors, and counsellors from BME backgrounds, who are currently under represented on the team.counselling

IDAHOBIT LGBT Awareness for City Councillors – Speakers Wanted!

To coincide with International Day Against Homo/ Bi/ Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), LGBT HIP is co-ordinating an LGBT- Awareness Learning Session for City Councillors in Brighton and Hove.

Councillors are directly elected to represent people in their ward, including LGBT people. This important session aims to increase awareness about issues and barriers that LGBT people in their constituents may face.

The half-day event will consist of a facilitated session led by HIP, as well as a panel discussion with local LGBT people.

We are looking for LGBTQ people who would like would like to take join the panel discussion. This opportunity is open to people who work, volunteer or use LGBTQ services in Brighton & Hove, or other LGBTQ community members.

LGBT Disabled Peoples Group

disability groupLGBT HIP is working with the Fed to support the set-up of the LGBT Disabled Peoples Group. We have two upcoming meet-ups so please get in touch if you are interested in coming along- meg.lewis@switchboard.org.uk.

The Stamner Room is an accessible meeting room and hot drinks will be provided. This is an opportunity to meet-up and plan future activities in a confidential setting.  Please share if you have any ideas for topics to discuss at this meeting, and we could plan a session around this.
