Helem, is the first LGBTQIA+ rights organization in the Arab world, officially established in Beirut, Lebanon in 2001. Its mission is to lead the struggle for the liberation of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Intersex, Transgendered, Queer (LGBTQIA+) and other people with non-conforming sexualities and/or gender identities in Lebanon and the SWANA region from all sorts of violations of their individual and collective civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights. Our goal is to empower young LGBTQIA+ leaders to advocate for their own liberation. We seek to create initiatives and spaces where our communities can leverage unity through diversity and build power. We protect and support individuals with the resources to resist the harm caused by homophobia and transphobia. We empower our youth through education and community building, and we mobilize to change the laws, policies, and practices that deny us equality and reduce our quality of life.
Here at Hidayah UK, our mission is to provide support and welfare for LGBTQI+ Muslims and promote social justice and education about our community to counter discrimination, prejudice and injustice. We aspire to create a society free from discrimination.

UK Queer Arabs is an informal, unfunded network of unpaid volunteers from within the LGBTIQA+ community with a range of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression who have an Arabic Heritage and Culture.
The group’s primary purpose is to bring together Adults Queer Arabs to remove social isolation, build friendship and strengthen our own sense of identity.
The group’s secondary purpose is to raise awareness of the lives and issues of queer arabs, remove and challenge stereotypes, and build a positive and more accurate image of the community.
Limits of the group’s activities. The group does not aim to replace or emulate existing support services such as wellbeing and mental health provision for the community. The group does not have the capacity to support people under the age of 18 years old. The group has limited capacity due to being run by volunteers.
